what happens when the mask comes off?

Diving into the psychological-paranormal realm, Heks is a new type of independent horror film.

A grieving British woman unravels her murdered mother’s secrets connected to a South African witch doctor’s curse. She wants to put an end to this haunting hex by traveling to South Africa, but instead it casts her deeper into sinister depths.

Drawing inspiration from centuries of witch doctors within the culture of her home of South Africa, horror movie veteran Reine Swart (
Triggered; The Lullaby; Z Nation) makes her directorial debut. She conducts a cast as diverse as South Africa itself.

Starring Coco Lloyd (Trypophobia; New You; Footballers' Wives), Mari Molefe van Heerden (Koringberg; Skoonma; Villa Rosa), Hungani Ndlovu (Scandal; Because You're Black), Mary-Anne Barlow (Black Sails; Cape Town; Mama Jack), Christopher Jaftha (Table Manners; Bedford Wives) and Stephanie Sandows (Scandal; Losing Lerato; Shuga). Production took place at Kleinkaap Boutique Hotel in South Africa. The team has worked on productions for National Geographic, Syfy, NBC Universal, BBC, Discovery Channel, and the list goes on.
